Choose Healthy Fruits

 by Audrey J

Choose Healthy Fruits Previous generations have done the trial and error to find the poisons, so you don't have to worry too much about that. Food allergies are something that many people have to deal with.
Peanuts allergies are among the most common. A fact of which you may not be aware is that peanuts are not actually nuts, but legumes.

When it comes to fruit allergy, the most common culprit is the strawberry. If someone is allergic, strawberries can cause rashes, hives and in the most serious cases, anaphylactic shock.

The exact allergens present in strawberries are unknown, but some research suggests it is a protein involved in ripening. The same protein is found in apples. So, people with strawberry allergies could also be allergic to apples.

A fruit might also be highly acidic. Oranges and grapefruits are examples. They might cause problems for people with acid reflux.

Although many people think of them as vegetables, tomatoes are actually healthy fruits. They are particularly beneficial for men, according to research. They contain an antioxidant called lycopene, which is believed to protect the health of the prostate and possibly prevent prostate cancer.

Fruit juices, excluding tomato juice, are not particularly good for your health. Most contain as much sugar as a soda. Although it is a natural form of sugar, it still causes spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels, which could be bad for your long term health.
When it comes to weight loss, fruit juices and those yummy smoothies may be interfering with your goals. Although they contain some healthy fruits, they may also contain a lot of calories. Check the nutrition facts on your favorite drink. You might find that substituting a no-calorie beverage, such as water or green tea, might cut out enough calories to help you lose a pound or more per week.

Actually, if you need to lose weight, substitution may be the key you are looking for. That and proper food combining are two of the best suggestions that have come along in a long time.

Most overweight people are confused about all of the different suggestions coming from so-called experts. For many years, people have been told that including healthy fruits in the diet is a good idea, for many reasons. They are almost like "free food".

Now, you've got some "nuts" out there saying that grapefruits are bad, because they are too high in sugar. A literal mountain of research contradicts that statement.

Grapefruit, eaten with a meal, boosts the body's fat burning ability. So, if you like the fruit go ahead and eat it.

Generally speaking, everyone should include some healthy fruits in their diet. Berries, in particular, contain unique anti-cancer antioxidants not found in other foods. So, eat well and live well.
